![]() ![]() It occurred to me that this book was an American book as much as anything else. In college, I started to read it, and was studying Puritan American literature at the time. I had heard of, probably from a commercial, and knew it was some kind of weird outsider Bible or something. I grew up Orthodox Jewish, and was very serious about religious literature. People used to leave books that others could take, and someone left a Book of Mormon. ![]() ![]() He spoke by phone with City Weekly about this unique project click here for our review of the book.Ĭity Weekly: What was your own introduction to the Book of Mormon, and why did it become so interesting to you?Īvi Steinberg: I first actually encountered it in a subway in Boston. I know how to write a television script.” It was a huge compliment, just the level of trust she had. ![]() And I checked in with her a few times, but for the most part, she just said, “You do what you know how to do.” Then she said, “I don’t know how to write a novel. And then I took those scripts and figured out how to turn them into a novel. So she wrote six scripts-two of them she wrote with someone else, but for the most part, she wrote six scripts-then handed them off to me. What we really did was take turns with what we did best and what our expertise is. Well, to be completely frank, I have no direct knowledge of Shonda’s process, because we didn’t work together holed up in a room. ![]() ![]() ![]() Remove the foil and bake for a further 20 minutes. This is literally true in real life, and figuratively true in dreams, where alligators may have more to do with harsh communication styles. To my mind, alligators mean business, and danger they are all about powerful jaws studded with knife-like teeth, which they use to destroy their prey. Strange beasts, confusing beasts: What are alligators all about? How do they work? What do they mean? Still, an alligator body is a body apparently at odds with itself, seemingly untouched by evolution. The violent smirking maw and spiky thrashing tail and swole armored frame - a formidable predator all the way down to its … shrimpy baby arms? It feels somewhat safe to assume that alligators would, on principle, love to rip each and every one of us to shreds.
